Meet Our Team

Innovative & Responsible

Co-Owner / Director

I am the joint owner of Hutton Pre-school.

I qualified with an NNEB in 1994 and have held a variety of early years roles. In 2012 after working as an early years practitioner and as an unqualified teacher within a school setting I decide to take the plunge and undertake my teacher training.

I hold a first class honours degree in Childhood Studies (SEN Specialism) and my teaching background is Early Years Foundation Stage and KS1.

I am passionate about the local community and want to contribute to it. I strongly believe that given the right environment children can learn through play and exploration. I hold the belief that children gain a love of learning through exciting opportunities and that learning does not need to take place sitting at a desk. In 2018, whilst working at Stifford Clays Primary School I won the outstanding teacher award at the Thurrock Education Awards for my innovative teaching style. I like to think outside the box and create learning opportunities in all experiences.

Co-Owner / Director

I am the joint owner of Hutton Pre-school.

I have held a variety of childcare positions including working as a nanny and in school nurseries. Over the last few years I have been a driving force behind introducing enquiry based learning and continuous provision into the Year One classes where I have been working. Tracy and I worked closely at Stifford Clays Primary School in both EYFS and KS1.

I have a strong belief in outside learning and with providing children the opportunity to play in an exciting and free environment, incorporating loose parts play and in the moment planning.

Pre-school Manager (currently on maternity leave)

I have undertaken my Early Years Teacher Training at Middlesex university. I hold a BA Hons in Childhood studies and joined 2 Little Birds full time in October 2020 to complete my teacher training.  Prior to this I was working in a local primary school as well as running the wrap around provision at 2 Little Birds since its inception in April 2019. Having achieved my degree I will be moving to Hutton Pre-school when I return from maternity leave.

I love working with children and have a firm belief that children need a strong foundation in Early Years to ensure they succeed in their future.

Erica Servis

Senior Practitioner

Hi I’m Erica, both my boys, (who are now very grown up!) attended Hutton Preschool and I started working there back in 2006 when my youngest son had been there for around 6 months.  I gained my CACHE Level 3 qualification in 2008, and since then have enjoyed continually learning and implementing the EYFS within the setting.

I have been the joint SENCO Officer since 2016, which is a role I am very passionate about, and feel it is important for all children with additional needs to feel included and be given the same opportunities to take part, play/explore, and learn alongside their peers in a safe and nurturing environment.

Caroline Fenwick

Staff Co-ordinator and Deputy SENCO

Senior Practitioner

I have worked with children since September 1991, after passing my NNEB in the June, working in a primary school for three years, as an LSA mainly one to one with a child with special educational needs. Then I worked in a nursery for two years.

I then had a break and had two children of my own, they are now 23 and 20 years old. I am happily married and we celebrated our silver wedding anniversary this year (2021).

When my second child started at Hutton Pre School I began working there, this was in September 2003. I am very happy working at the pre-school and I passed my Foundation Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education in June 2010. I became a Communication Champion in March 2011, this was after attending a ten week course one afternoon a week. I am now the SENCO alongside my colleague Erica for Hutton pre-school. The pre-school is a very happy and caring establishment.

In my spare time I like to do gardening and baking, I like to go walking, having done the Moon Walk a couple of times, this year (2021) being the second time with my two daughters, we raised over £500 for Breast Cancer.

Becky Jones

Designated Safeguarding Officer

Senior Practitioner

My name is Becky Jones.  I am married with two children.  I moved to Hutton in 2010 whilst pregnant with my son who is now 11, I also have an 8 year old daughter.

Being new to the area I attended the Hutton Baby and Toddler group and soon made lots of friends.  Both of my children attended Hutton Pre-School which they thoroughly enjoyed.

I started working at Hutton Pre-School in 2017, after a complete career change; previously having worked in a Data Section at the University of London.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business Studies.  Since starting at Hutton Pre-School I have studied for and gained my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.  I thoroughly enjoy working at the Pre-School and watching the children learn and grow in confidence during their time here.

Zeph Agius

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer

Senior Practitioner

I moved to Brentwood in 2011 and came across Hutton Pre-school where I sent my youngest. Once I had seen the care and attention the children were given I decided to study to be a pre-school practitioner, and I passed my level 2 and 3 in children and young peoples workforce.

I find my job very enjoyable and very rewarding to watch the children grow and learn through play.

In my spare time I enjoy decorating and spending time with my family.
