My name is Zeph Agius. I have three children and I moved to Brentwood in 2011 and came across ‘Hutton Pre-school’, where I sent my youngest. After seeing the care and attention the children were given I decided to study to be a pre-school practitioner. I passed my Diploma Levels 2 and 3 in ‘Children and Young People’s Workforce’. I find my job enjoyable and rewarding.
I have worked at Hutton Pre-school since 2000. When my second son attended I was a parent helper and I love it! I enjoyed my Level 3 training at college where I learnt about child development and how children learn through their play. I love art and craft, music, singing and storytelling. I had a daughter in 2006, so had a brief spell from Hutton Pre-school. I am proud to work in such a caring, nurturing environment, we are a good team.
Hi, I’m Sally Clark and I have worked at Hutton Pre-school since 1994, becoming an owner in 1999. My three children attended Hutton Pre-school, there have been many changes since then but consistently the children attending the Group have enjoyed their days and had lots of fun. I work with an excellent team and do the Administration for the Group. I have the Diploma in Pre-school Practice Level 3 and am the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
I have worked with children since September 1991, after passing my NNEB in the June, working in a primary school for three years, then a nursery for two years. I then had a break and had two children of my own. When my second child started at Hutton Pre School I began working there as well, this was in September 2003. I am still very happy working at the pre-school and I passed my Foundation Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education in June 2010. I became a Communication Champion in March 2011, this was after attending a ten week course one afternoon a week. The pre school is a happy, caring and well run establishment.
I am Janis Garlick, joint owner of Hutton Pre-school together with Sally and Brenda. I first started “helping out” at Pre-school when my middle son was there (now a teacher himself) and then went on to do my Diploma in Pre-school Practice Level 3 . I have also attended a wide variety of further training to keep updating my skills and knowledge. I am also the Group’s SENCO, and joint ENCO with Sally. I enjoy working with the young children in the setting.
My name is Becky Jones. I am married with two children. I moved to Hutton in 2010 whilst pregnant with my son who is now 8. Being new to the area I attended the Baby and Toddler group and soon made lots of friends. My 5 year old daughter started Infant school recently. Both of my children attended Hutton Pre-School which they thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that my daughter often asks if she can come into work with me! I started working at Hutton Pre-School in 2017, after a complete career change; previously having worked in a Data Section at the University of London. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business Studies. Since starting at Hutton Pre-School I have been studying towards my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, which I hope to finish by the end of November 2018. I thoroughly enjoy working at the Pre-School and watching the children learn and grow in confidence during their time here. I find this role the most enjoyable and rewarding job I have ever had!
My name is Aldona Kmiec-Doherty but all the children and grown ups at pre-school know me as Aldi. I come from Poland where I finished all my schooling. When I was 18 years old I had a year’s break from studying and went to USA to be an au-pair. That was my first experience working with children. In 2003 I came to England where I met my husband. Two years later we became parents to our daughter – Julia. That was the time when I decided to work with children again. First I completed NVQ2 in Childcare and for the last two years I have been studying to become an Early Years Professional at the Anglia Ruskin University which I gained in October 2011.
Hi my name is Donna Mason and I started working at Hutton Pre-School in 2006. My son was 3 at the time and was at the Pre-school and my daughter was a year old. I had always wanted to work with children and while seeing how well the children were cared for and what the sessions entailed I decided that I wanted to do the same and enrolled on a Level 2 Certificate in Pre-school Practice then a year later I completed the Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice and I have never regretted or looked back since. I love watching the children grow in confidence and develop their own personalities but it’s always sad to say goodbye when they go to school.
I am from Russia. I finished college in Moscow and I am certified as a home teacher/governess. I worked in a school in Moscow for about two years as a teacher’s assistant in afterschool care. I started working at Hutton Pre-school in 2011. I completed the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce (QCF) and QA Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid in 2013.
My name is Danielle Roach but the children know me as Dani. I have a son who attended Hutton Pre-school from and is the third generation of my family to attend Hutton Pre-school. I had my son in 2010 which reshaped my outlook on life and career. I then went onto to achieve my Level 1 and 2 in British Sign Language to support the children in the deaf community. I was a professional singer and continued music via songwriting for record labels whilst at home with my son. I incorporated this at home, seeing how music created a positive impact on my son’s learning. I asked if I could do a voluntary music and movement session at Hutton Pre-school when he was attending. The most satisfying and rewarding experience was seeing all the happy, excited and engaged children in the session. I then went on to achieve my Level 2 in Early Years Workforce and then began working for Hutton Pre-school in January 201. My son was diagnosed with autism and I decided to take an exam achieving a Level 2 in understanding autism in September 2018. I have a passion to support children in learning through play and sensory, and creating an inclusive environment for all needs and abilities along with my passion for music and performance. Never a day is the same with the varied choices to be had at Hutton Pre-School, always positive and enriched.
Hello my name is Erica and I have 2 children both of whom started their early education at Hutton Pre-School. Both of my children loved the setting and learnt so much whilst there and, as a parent, seeing the care and attention that they were given by the Teachers inspired me to do a complete u-turn in my career and go back to college and study for my Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma. I have now been working at the Pre-School since 2006 and find it the most fulfilling job I have ever had! I have attended many courses including First Aid, Safeguarding Children and Tiny Talk. I love watching the children progress in the time that they are with us, from being shy little things when they start to confident children when they leave to go on to school and feel proud and privileged that I have been a part of that.
