Freedom and fun outside. Running, jumping, balancing. Playing in the sand or water, digging, using large bricks to construct and enjoying the climbing frame. This is all part of everyday learning and fun at Hutton Pre-school.
Home corner with staff
The Home Corner and using playdough is the perfect place for children to build up their vocabulary as they explain what they are doing and join in conversations with others. The Staff support this and take time to let the children chat and listen to each child’s story.
The children are hard at work making dinner. Very young children play alongside each other until their speech and development have progressed which will enable them to make friends and chatter. This is when the noise level increases!
The children enjoy football sessions each week as they develop movement skills and good team work. Both boys and girls find this activity challenging as it is different from all other activities offered at the pre-school. A child is rewarded each week for their hard work during the session.
Children take part in a variety of craft activities. Here they have freedom to create using paper plates, pens, glue and will stick a variety of craft materials to their plate.
Sitting under the Climbing Frame
Children enjoy watching the friends above them and use new language to describe what is happening. The climbing frame is an indoor piece of equipment, the children can climb round the frame, climb over the bars and go down the slide. Children are developing dexterity, muscle control and building their muscles plus taking small risks whilst at play which boosts their confidence..
The Group come together to enjoy a story and the children love to get involved! This fuels their imagination and gives them plenty to make a noise about.
